Bei der Serie EDS-G512E-8PoE handelt es sich um managed full Gigabit PoE+ Ethernet Switches, die serienmäßig mit acht 10/100/1000BaseT(X) sowie zu 802.3af (PoE) und 802.3at (PoE+) kompatiblen Ethernet-Ports und bis zu 4 Glasfaser-Ports ausgestattet sind.
Mit den Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Ports eignet es sich perfekt für die Breitbandkommunikation zwischen PD-Geräten wie z.B. Wireless Access Points, die nach den Standards IEEE 802.11n und IEEE 802.1ac arbeiten, oder hochauflösenden GigE Kameras für Mautsysteme. Diese liefern im Standardmodus bis zu 30 Watt Leistung pro PoE+-Port, liefern aber auch Ausgangsleistungen von bis zu 36 Watt zur Versorgung von industriellen PoE-Hochleistungsgeräten wie wetterfesten IP-Überwachungskameras mit Scheibenwischern und Heizelementen und robusten IP-Telefonen.
Die Ethernet Switches EDS-G512E-8PoE sind vielseitig einsetzbar, und die SFP-Glasfaserports können Daten über Entfernungen von bis zu 120 km bei hoher Störfestigkeit vom Gerät zur Zentrale übertragen. Daneben unterstützen die Ethernet Switches eine Vielzahl von Managementfunktionen, unter anderem STP/RSTP, Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain™, das PoE-Energiemanagement, den automatischen PoE-Gerätecheck, PoE Power Scheduling, IGMP, VLAN, QoS, RMON, Bandbreitenmanagement und Port-Mirroring.
