Der Embedded Computer IA260 verfügt über vier serielle RS-232/422/485-Ports, zwei Ethernet-Ports, acht digitale Eingangskanäle, acht digitale Ausgangskanäle, VGA-Ausgang, zwei USB-Server und einen CompactFlash-Sockel. Die Computer sind in einem kompakten, industriellen Aluminiumgehäuse untergebracht.

Der IA260-Computer verwendet die Cirrus Logic EP9315 ARM9 RISC-CPU mit 32 Bit, 200 MHz. Diese leistungsfähige Datenverarbeitungs-Engine unterstützt mehrere nützliche Kommunikationsfunktionen, erzeugt jedoch nicht viel Abwärme. Das integrierte 32 MB NOR Flash-ROM und 128 MB SDRAM bieten Ihnen ausreichend Arbeitsspeicher zur direkten Ausführung Ihrer Anwendungssoftware auf dem IA260.

Mit der integrierten VGA-Ausgabeschnittstelle eignet sich der IA260 zur Verwendung mit SCADA-Systemen in industriellen Anwendungen, wie z. B. in der Fertigungsautomatisierung, in der Überwachung von Produktionslinienverfahren und in der Bergbauautomatisierung, die VGA- und HMI-Funktionen benötigen.

Der IA260-Computer unterstützt RS-232/422/485, digitale I/Os und zwei LAN-Ports. Damit eignet sich dieses Gerät ideal als Kommunikationsplattform für industrielle Anwendungen, die Netzwerkredundanz erfordern. Neben dem Standardmodell steht auch ein Modell mit einem erweiterten Temperaturbereich (-40 bis 75 °C) zur Verfügung, sodass dieses auch in rauen industriellen Umgebungen eingesetzt werden kann.

Die Embedded IA260-Computer werden mit vorinstalliertem Standard-Linux oder mit dem gängigen WinCE OS ausgeliefert. Die für einen Desktop-PC entwickelte Software kann mit einem gängigen Compiler ganz einfach auf die IA260-Plattform portiert werden, ohne den Code zu verändern. Sie können die für eigene Anwendungen entwickelte Software im Flash-Speicher des IA260 ablegen.
